Why I Started Smart Start Tutoring

When I first began helping students one-on-one, I realized something simple but powerful: most students don’t struggle because they can’t learn. They struggle because no one has taken the time to explain things in a way that makes sense to them. That’s why I started Smart Start Tutoring to make learning clear, approachable, and personal.

My Mission

I want to help students feel confident about subjects that often feel intimidating physics, chemistry, and math. These subjects form the foundation of so many careers and technologies shaping our world, yet they’re also the ones that frustrate students the most. My goal is to replace that frustration with understanding and curiosity.

How I Teach

I offer in-person tutoring in Thunder Bay for local students, and online tutoring sessions for students anywhere in the world. Each session is customized to the student’s level, goals, and learning style. Whether it’s helping a high school student master the basics or supporting a college student tackling advanced topics, I focus on clarity, practice, and real understanding not memorization.

Why It Matters

Education changes everything. When a student finally grasps a concept they once found impossible, it builds confidence that reaches far beyond the classroom. That’s why I do this. Seeing that moment of understanding and knowing it might change the course of someone’s academic path is what keeps me teaching every day.
